Victoria’s Children, formerly known as Victoria Global Ministry, is a 501(c)(3) charitable and Christian organization. We operate an orphanage in Kenya, providing shelter, food, clothing, education and medical care  for orphaned and vulnerable children. We strive to ensure that emphasis is placed on spiritual and emotional development, empowering the children to become strong, successful members of the community. Victoria's Children is comprised of a U.S.-based and Kenya-based board. We also have staff members at the orphanage that ensure the children’s needs are met and they are kept safe.

Victoria's Children was founded in 2014 by Faith Obonyo in loving memory of her daughter Victoria Nyambura Muchiri. During a visit to Kenya in 2009, Victoria was heartbroken by the orphaned and vulnerable children she saw there. She told her mother she would help those children after she graduated from college. Victoria’s dream was cut short when her life tragically ended at the age of 22. Victoria's Children was founded to bring her dream to reality. Through the generosity of many, what started as a simple act of love in honoring Victoria has grown into a legacy that will live on for many years.

In 2014, Faith formed a board to realize her daughter’s vision. Our journey started by seeking God’s guidance for orphaned children and providing a safe place for them to live. He quickly provided and were able to provide care for 20 beautiful children in a rented home in Makuyu, Kenya. After 4 years, we were able to build a more permanent home that would meet our needs now and in the future.

In 2018, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we built a dormitory that can house 48 children, 6 house mothers, an office, private bathrooms and two large common rooms. In May, 2018, a group of Victoria's Children board members and friends took a mission trip to Kenya to visit the VCF children. While in Kenya, we dug a well to provide clean water to our children and the community. It took over five days before we hit water as it had to be drilled through over 600 feet of solid granite. The next part of our journey was to raise the funds to build the kitchen. Through a lot of prayer and God working in the hearts of many of you, we were able to start building the kitchen in January of 2019. It was completed in May, 2019, putting us one step closer to fulfilling our goals.

The 20 children have moved into the new property and have started their new schools. Our journey is not complete and we cannot continue without your support and prayers. Thank you for your continued support!
